How to make NASI LEMAK ! ALL TIME FAVORITE Malaysian Cuisine!



Nasi Lemak Ingredients

~~Sambal Nasi Lemak~~
Blended ingredients:
2 onion
6 shallots
3 cloves garlic
1 lemongrass (only white part)
10g toasted shrimp paste /Belacan

other ingredients:
10tbsp chilli paste
Tamarind juice (1tbsp tamarind paste+ 2 tbsp water)
40g palm sugar
salt to taste
100ml oil


Nasi Lemak (rice)
2 cup rice
1/2 tsp salt
1 crushed lemongrass
3 pandan leaves
6 slices ginger
Thin coconut milk (250ml thick coconut + 350ml water)
150ml thick coconut (to use later)

1.Heat oil , Saute the blended mixture until fragrant . Add in chilli paste ,stir fry until the mixture is separated from oil.


2.Add in tamarid juice, palm sugar,stir well. Add in salt ,cook for a little while until its thickened.


1. Rinse rice with water, drained. Transfer the rice into rice cooker pot, add in salt, lemongrass, pandan leaves, ginger and thin coconut milk.


2.Cook the rice until turn to "keep warm "mode. Add in thick coconut milk , gently stir well. Continue keep warm until the rice fully cooked (around 20 minutes).


3. Serve the rice/ nasi lemak with hard boil egg ,fried anchovy , sliced cucumber , roasted groundnut , sambal , and Malay spiced fried chicken ,it is really yummy!
