How to make Purple Sweet Potato & Pumpkin Onde – Onde !

ingredients:
100g steamed and mashed pumpkin
150g glutinous rice flour
1 tbsp wheat starch
1/2tbsp oil
90ml water (add in slowly as pumpkin contain more water)

Purple sweet potato Onde Onde
Ingredient:
100g Steamed and mashed Purple sweet potato
150g glutinous rice flour
1 tbsp wheat starch
1/2tbsp oil
120ml water (or might be more)

Filling:
250g palm sugar

coating:
200g grated coconut + a pinch of salt

 

Method:
1.Steam grated coconut + salt together with pandan leaves until it soften. Set aside.

2.Chop the palm sugar.

3.In 2 mixing bowl, shift the glutinous rice flour and wheat starch. Add in mashed pumpkin and purple sweet potato individually to the mixing bowl

4..add in oil and water(Add the water slowly,can add in some glutinous flour in case the dough too soft and sticky).Knead it well into smooth dough.

5.Pinch a small amount of dough and roll it in your palm to form a small ball,Make a small well in the centre of the dough and fill it with chopped palm sugar.Pinch dough to seal,roll into small ball again.

6.Ready a pot of boiling water.

7.drop the small balls into the pot and when the balls float ,it shows that it is fully cooked. Remove them with sieve.

8.Drop the balls onto steamed grated coconut and gently coat them evenly. And its ready to serve!
